Cappadocia Explorer - Turkey Extension
Located in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, Cappadocia is renowned for its otherworldly landscapes and fascinating human history. This ancient land, shaped by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago, is characterized by its otherworldly landscape of towering fairy chimneys and deeply carved valleys. Amidst this surreal scenery lie hidden marvels - ornate Byzantine cave churches adorned with frescoes and underground cities where early Christians sought refuge from persecution.
During these two and three-night Cappadocia trips, you’ll discover the highlights of the region, including Uchisar Castle and the Göreme Open Air Museum. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the underground cities of Kaymakli and Derinkuyu and hike through the magnificent Ihlara Valley, as well as embark on an optional hot air balloon flight.
These packages include accommodation in Cappadocia, all transportation and transfers, as well as the services of a professional guide and entrance fees to all museums and archaeological sites.

Itinerary
Cappadocia 3- Day Extension
Day 1: Dalman to Cappadocia
From Dalaman Airport, you’ll fly to Istanbul and transfer onto a flight to Kayseri Havalimanı, which serves as a gateway to Cappadocia. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to Uçhisar and check into Les Maisons de Cappadoce where you will be spending the next two nights.

Day 2: Cappadocia
Wake early for an optional hot-air balloon flight to watch the sunrise over the valleys of Cappadocia. Be sure to wear extra layers as the temperature can drop significantly as you ascend in altitude above these spectacular desert landscapes. The rest of the day will be spent exploring Cappadocia from the ground, with this remarkable region featuring vast underground cities filled with churches, schools, and homes that have been carved into the uniquely eroded volcanic tuff.
After breakfast, we’ll stroll to Uchisar Castle, a stunning rock formation that has served as a fortress for locals over the years. The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking! Next, we’ll embark on a hike through the Red Valley, with a total walking distance of around five miles. Following our hike, we’ll refuel over lunch in Çavuşin Village before visiting a rug-weaving center where you can try Turkish coffee while watching the skilled artisans at work.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Göreme Open Air Museum, which showcases some outstanding examples of Byzantine rural art. In the evening, we will wrap up the day with a delicious dinner featuring Cappadocia specialties.

Day 3: Cappadocia to Istanbul
This morning, you will be transferred to Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport and make the short flight back to Istanbul. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to The Haze Karaköy, which is located in the heart of the city. This atmospheric boutique hotel features just 20 rooms and has wheelchair-accessible facilities, as well as a cozy fireplace and friendly staff who will help you plan additional activities in Istanbul.

Cappadocia 4- Day Extension
Day 1: Dalman to Cappadocia
After arriving at Dalaman Airport, you'll take a flight to Istanbul and then connect to another flight heading to Kayseri Havalimanı, the aviation gateway to Cappadocia. Once you land, a transfer will take you to Uçhisar, where you'll check in at Les Maisons de Cappadoce.

Day 2: Cappadocia
Start your day early with an optional hot-air balloon ride to witness the sunrise over the valleys of Cappadocia. Remember to dress in layers, as the temperature can drop quite a bit as you rise above these breathtaking desert landscapes.
The remainder of the day will be dedicated to discovering Cappadocia on foot. This incredible region is home to extensive underground cities, complete with churches, schools, and homes carved into the uniquely shaped volcanic tuff.
After breakfast, we’ll take a leisurely walk to Uchisar Castle, an impressive rock formation that has historically served as a fortress. The panoramic views from the top are spectacular! Next, we’ll set off on a hike through the Red Valley, covering approximately five miles. After our hike, we’ll enjoy lunch in Çavuşin Village and then visit a rug-weaving center, where you can savor Turkish coffee while observing talented artisans at work.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore the Göreme Open Air Museum, which features remarkable examples of Byzantine rural art. To conclude the day, we’ll indulge in a delicious dinner showcasing the specialties of Cappadocia.

Day 3: Cappadocia
This morning will be spent exploring the remarkable underground cities of Kaymakli and Derinkuyu, which descend up to eight stories. As you navigate through their tunnels, you’ll uncover churches, residential spaces, storage rooms, and wells, as well as beautifully carved chimneys and chambers for wine production. During some historical periods, as many as 60,000 people once sought refuge in these underground havens for months at a time.
Next, we will head to the Ihlara Valley, a magnificent canyon that extends for over nine miles and is around 150 meters deep at some points. We’ll follow a narrow trail that winds through this breathtaking landscape to admire the rock formations and hidden Byzantine churches with their original frescoes. Lunch will be enjoyed at a cafe along the riverbank.

Day 4: Cappadocia to Istanbul
This morning, you'll head to Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport for the short flight back to Istanbul. Once you arrive, a transfer will take you to The Haze Karaköy, situated right in the city's heart. This charming boutique hotel features just 20 rooms and includes wheelchair-accessible amenities, a warm fireplace, and a welcoming team ready to assist you in organizing more activities during your stay in Istanbul.
